Wilbert (founder of UC Group) is an energetic builder who combines entrepreneurship with his experience as a Logistics Engineer. That logistics background translates into supporting clients with complex mechanisation and robotisation challenges. In his current role he leads the Engineering team and helps both the client in their search for the best solution and the logistics engineer in their development and growth towards becoming an independent consultant.
After the experience described under 'Experience', he chose entrepreneurship: a period in which he built UC Group, a consultancy, delivery and interim agency. Organised within a unique network of closely connected ventures, UC Group helps its clients deliver modern supply chain and production challenges. Over 10 years, he and his business partner achieved twentyfold growth for this network. He also supported clients with complex mechanisation and robotisation challenges, was co-responsible for the launch of chain orchestrator BEND, and in 2015 took over the E-fulfilment Academy.
It's experience that comes together neatly in his role as Director of Innovation and Operations. In that role he ensures stable management for the ventures in the network and uses his specialist supply chain knowledge to initiate innovation across the UC Group network. With his track record, he identifies opportunities for new ventures to improve UC Group's service to its clients and strengthen the network effect for all stakeholders.
Before Wilbert started out as an entrepreneur, he worked at Incontrol, TDG and DHL Supply Chain. For his employers and clients in the supply chain sector, he always focused on optimising operations — through continuous process improvement by applying digitalisation, mechanisation and robotisation solutions. Always with the goal of adding value to the business by better aligning processes with the company strategy.
