As a technical business engineer, Koen has always been interested in the interplay between people, departments and companies to make the processes connect as efficiently and effectively as possible. After all, each chain is only as strong as its weakest link and Koen loves robust Supply Chains.
He finds solutions that best suit people, the organization they work for and the world in which he operates. Whether it's about purchasing raw materials, concluding partnerships with suppliers, implementing a purchasing system to professionalizing a purchasing department, Koen does everything he does with heart and soul.
Koen has worked for various multinationals at home and abroad. As a result, he has a rich experience of corporate cultures in which he has had to act. From Nestlé's Swiss accuracy, to the American greatness of Biogen and Diversey, to Solidus' Groningen sobriety, he has always been able to learn the client's culture and make changes there.
From the Supply Chain position, he has entered the purchasing profession and has fulfilled various roles with increasing responsibility within the purchasing function over the past 20 years. From developing and purchasing packaging materials for a small factory, to European purchasing of indirect materials and services to purchasing raw materials worldwide. For various Private Equity companies, Koen has recently been responsible for setting up a purchasing team in Asia and setting up a group purchasing function for a solid board organization in Groningen.
