As an industrial engineer, I've always been interested in the interplay between people, departments and companies, aligning processes as efficiently and effectively as possible. After all, every chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and I love robust supply chains.
I find solutions in which people, the organisation they work for, and the world I operate in all come into their own. Whether it's buying raw materials, forming partnerships with suppliers, implementing a procurement system or professionalising a procurement department — I do everything I do with heart and soul.
I've worked for various multinationals at home and abroad, giving me rich experience of the company cultures I've had to operate in. From the Swiss precision of Nestlé, to the American scale of Biogen and Diversey, to the down-to-earth Groningen style of Solidus — I've always been able to make the client's culture my own and bring about change there.
I rolled into procurement from a supply chain role, and over the past 20 years I've held various roles of increasing responsibility within the procurement function. From developing and buying packaging materials for a small factory, to European procurement of indirect materials and services, to global sourcing of raw materials. For several private equity companies, I've recently been responsible for setting up a procurement team in Asia and establishing a group procurement function for a solid-board company in Groningen.
How I can help:
I bring the experience I've gained and provide a fresh perspective. Sacred cows aren't necessarily sacred with me — and if it suits the organisation better, they'll get a dormer and an extension.
My expertise lies in procurement, supply chain management and process optimisation. I love putting my knowledge to work to take organisations to the next level.
