Biography

It's all about using my talents in life. I am creative, challenge myself and overcome my disappointments. These values have guided me to become the man I am today, both in my personal life and in my professional environment.
My mission is clear: business and sustainability are inextricably linked. That is why I support the inevitable movement from the traditional, old-fashioned way of acting to a new ethical, sustainable practice, completely future-proof.
I am a driven and enthusiastic person. I like to spend my free time with my wife, (grand) children and dog on the island of Goeree where the 3 R's still rule: Rest, Space and Relax. I can regularly be found on the golf course to bring mind and body back into balance. I experience the same thing when I walk through the island's beautiful nature or speed down the mountains on skis. In addition, I am very interested in languages. I speak English, German, French and teach Dutch as a volunteer language to NT2-ers (Dutch as a second language). I would like to take the time to show off my culinary skills, preferably with Spanish and Italian dishes. And of course, I live in a sustainable way as much as possible: solar panels on the roof, a heat pump, an electric car and vegetarian food.

Work experience

International business is in my DNA, with a passion for sustainability. I am the connector who is able to build bridges between ideas, projects and people in this time of transitions. From a sustainable perspective, I always put Corporate Social Responsibility first. Through my enthusiasm and drive, I offer solutions that relieve entrepreneurs in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility. Practical and
measurable, such as the application of internationally renowned CSR standards such as VSME, CSRD, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), ISO 14083 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through my expertise in consultancy and project management, I offer my knowledge and experience to advise companies so that they can comply with the various regulations and legislation in the field of sustainability. In this process, my focus is on the realization of various CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) reports by means of:

  • an ESG baseline measure (Environmental, Social, Governance)
  • a validated method (Loginex) to map CO₂ emissions for scope 1, 2 and 3
    bringing
  • a Dual Materiality Analysis and a GAP Analysis
  • an Action Plan to convert the sustainability strategy into concrete policy, in line
with the chosen SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)

As a creative and organized person, I am able to act flexibly, but also maintain an overview. All this to achieve the best result under the motto “maximum input = maximum output”. I have extensive experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, including within the CKT (Covenant for Sustainable Clothing and Textile). As an expert in the CSR process, I am very good at empathizing with the entrepreneur's world of thoughts or
manager who sees the complex, sustainable transition as an invincible barrier. Especially through objective monitoring and co-creation, I am convinced that I can develop an optimal and future-proof Value Chain for UC Group customers. Given the obligations resulting from far-reaching EU and national legislation (CSRD, CSDDD, UPV), this will be a matter of prioritization and urgency for every entrepreneur.

The new CSRD & Omnibus: What does this mean for your logistics company?

A lot has changed in the past year in the sustainability country. An adapted CSRD regulation through a relaxation of the ESRSs - the standards that underlie the CSRD and amended criteria that mean that many Wave-2 companies (medium-sized companies that would previously fall under the CSRD) are now exempt from mandatory sustainability reporting.
