“Implement a JDA planning tool, install central tactical planning and ensure the transition from historical to forecast-oriented supply chain approach.”

The planning was based on short-term planning and re-order inventory management.

The challenge for Ecolab wasn't just to implement JDA and install a tactical planning team. The transition also had to be made from a historically based to a forcast-based supply chain approach. To do this, planning processes had to be developed and set up based on expected customer demand.

Our solution

UC gradually implemented JDA planning and a customized planning tool to ensure a stable planning tool before starting the transition to a forecast-driven supply chain. During these implementations, tactical planning processes were integrated into the planning processes of separate plants.

In the meantime, planning processes based on customer demand have been developed and implemented. This enabled the transition to a customer-demand-oriented supply chain to be started. This resulted in tactical supply chain planning for the next 3-6 months and strategic planning for the next 18 months.
