Ward has a real passion for logistics and great respect for the people that make logistics possible. He works closely with his client relationships and customers to gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges they are facing and to come up with the most appropriate recommendations and plans for their situation. He adopts a holistic approach to understanding the impact of change from various perspectives. With his eye for detail, which is often the key to success, he advises on, oversees and implements change. He enjoys sharing his experience and has the energy needed to steer the teams around him to achieve the best possible results. His experience in an international environment includes working both on the shipping and 3PL & 4PL sides, with stakeholder involvement and anticipation as fixed elements in his approach.
Ward has worked in a wide range of roles in logistics and has seen how various disciplines are interlinked. As Head of Business Development he has had the opportunity to advise many international customers on structuring their logistics. This includes advising on warehouse centralisations and transitions, as well as on control tower set-ups both for small e-commerce customers and large B2B corporates. He also has experience in selecting partners, such as carriers and suppliers, for total logistics concepts. As the programme director leading a team of process, system, finance, facility management and HR specialists, he has been responsible for successfully implementing new operations and major redesigns. With a background in Lean and Operations Excellence he focuses considerable time on stabilising and further optimising the business after the initial set-up. Having been responsible for logistics ‘in the field’ at a major electronics company Ward clearly understands shippers’ interests. He provides direction for the logistics and Supply Chain set-ups he advises and structures by focusing attention on ensuring end customer satisfaction and achieving challenging sales targets.
