Rogier Bertens

Operational Improvement Specialist & Interim Manager

Solutions:

Biography

Rogier is enthusiastic and can always see the light at the end of a tunnel or make sure there is light shining somewhere. This helps him to win people over so that they want to join him on the journey to achieve joint objectives. He is good at getting on with people at all organisational levels.

He is an experienced manager and adviser on senior management issues and running manufacturing businesses.

Experience

Rogier’s studies and professional experience mean he has very wide-ranging knowledge of supply chain management. At a young age he chose to combine his studies of mechanical engineering with proficiency in change management and expertise in innovation. He then went on to various roles in manufacturing industry, where he showed the importance of basing change processes on organisational knowledge and people. As he puts it, ‘You’re lost if you don’t take the people along with you.’

Rogier also makes efforts to ensure that he is replaceable: it’s the people in the company who have to work with the change, not him. His coaching and guidance give employees the confidence to take the lead and evolve into self-managing teams.

Rogier has broad-ranging experience as an operations manager, a chief operations officer and a board member responsible for technology. He’s a passionate leader who loves working with teams and partners to achieve success. He stays focused on the agreed objectives and the vision outlined at the start, with plenty of attention for the human dimension. That way, the organisations he works with can grow by improving their performance and producing more at lower cost. That means both satisfied customers and also – and importantly – greater employee commitment to the business or product.
