Rob is a creative and highly experienced warehousing specialist. He enjoys helping clients to improve existing processes and optimise lay-outs and working on greenfield design studies, using his Layout3D design software to bring sketches and concepts to life.
After his studies he started work as a process engineer looking for improvements at a logistics service provider. All the time with his feet firmly on the ground. Equipped only with Excel, a WMS, operating instructions and good relationships with colleagues and clients he initiated and implemented a whole range of continuous improvement projects of varying sizes.
In recent years Rob has focused primarily on developing and implementing greenfield warehouse solutions. By listening to clients’ wishes and examining relevant data from every possible angle he can quickly produce an initial draft as the basis for going forward. Using Layout3D design software he takes his clients along with him on the journey to the perfect warehouse, from the basic concept to implementation.
Automation and keeping up-to-date with what’s available in the market are real passions for him. But although automation is increasingly set as an objective for new or optimised logistics operations, Rob’s motto is that automation is a means to an end, not the end in itself. What you can achieve with a good team and a WMS is still relevant! That’s the base case underpinning automation.
