After studying Technical Transport Management & Logistics, Jelle started working for General Electric (GE Capital). Starting out as a business analyst showed him the huge diversity of a multinational, as well as how organisations work in practice, how logistics chains operate, how businesses ‘talk’ to each other and, above all, the importance of the human dimension in these activities. He also focused on supply chain management, particularly interactions within chains. At the same time he familiarised himself with Lean and Six Sigma and qualified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and trainer. While at GE he also worked in various management support and line management roles.
After moving into consultancy and project management, he became increasingly interested in the human factor within organisations, also with a strong link to supply chain management. As well as proving very interesting, a postgraduate programme in Change Management at the VU Amsterdam was personally enriching for him. Meanwhile, the focus in his day-to-day practice shifted from highly operational projects to projects primarily involving change management.
Jelle has spent most of his career in organisations undergoing change, with roles in process-driven changes, mergers, expansions, crises and closures. His experience as a business analyst means he speaks not only in terms that management and the board understand, but is also good at talking to people on the workfloor.
