He has very wide-ranging experience at the intersection of logistics operations and commercial aspects of doing business internationally. The basis of this experience comes from his various logistics management roles in retail, supermarkets, FMCG businesses and international logistics service providers (Rhenus and APL Logistics).
In various European management positions (where he was responsible for the Benelux and EMEA) he devised and implemented international inbound Supply Chain solutions for customers in the retail, FMCG, DIY and manufacturing sectors, and so now has in-depth expertise in 3PL and 4PL solutions.
Although his calm and friendly character might suggest otherwise, he is highly driven and results-oriented. His ideal is to devise highly pragmatic solutions for inbound Supply Chains and that produce concrete results, such as structurally increasing supply certainty and product availability, reducing landed costs per product and improving clients’ Supply Chain visibility.
Connecting and collaborating with others are in his DNA. Having worked both for shippers and logistics service providers he is quick to spot opportunities for collaborating with related disciplines such as procurement, sales and Production so as to improve logistics supplier management and create opportunities for buyer consolidation. He also knows how to connect external partners such as government and sector organisations quickly and professionally to interesting projects contributing to social sustainability.
