Mark Pieterse

Biography

Mark Pieterse lives in Amersfoort, has two adult children and loves sport. From a young age he was always fascinated by the logistics and production processes that form the backbone of the modern economy. This drove him to pursue a career in production, supply chain and logistics, where he has now been working for many years.

Mark is excellent at identifying the core of complex problems and their causes. He’s a born organiser. So coordinating events, planning resources and motivating people to achieve goals are second nature to him.

After his studies, he started his career in the FMCG and B2B sectors, where his various roles taught him a lot and gave him very valuable experience. This experience has shaped him both professionally and personally by giving him the chance to grow, both in terms of developing his skills and in his ability to deal with people and lead teams.

Experience

Mark began his career working for various employers, but then found out he preferred the freedom and challenges of being a self-employed entrepreneur. He has now been self-employed for over six years, mainly working in the production sector. This has involved working with a range of businesses in various key roles, including as:

• Warehousing Consultant advising Lomans Totaal Installateur in Amersfoort on optimising its warehousing processes and strategies;
• Warehouse & Distribution Manager at Deli Home in Gorinchem, where he was responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the warehousing and distribution operations;
• Director of Paper Logistics at C. van Heezik Papierlogistiek in Utrecht, where he was responsible for managing significant changes in the paper production logistics chain;
• General Manager of Tesa in Nijkerk, where he further developed his general management and operational optimisation skills;
• Operational Manager at Geostick in Uithoorn, where he contributed to optimising production processes and implemented strategic changes to boost operating efficiency.
