Maarten has more than 25 years of experience in business control, consultancy, and organizational development. He began his career as a process consultant at Andersen Consulting, where he was responsible for implementing ERP systems (SAP), with a focus on logistics and financial functionalities. He then worked as a business controller at Siemens, where he was involved in contracting and the operational and financial handling of various projects for clients in the retail and banking sectors.
As CFO and Head of Operations at Siemens’ leasing company, he led the teams for administration, collections, and asset management, and managed the successful sale of the lease portfolio to a banking leasing company.
He found greater purpose at Follow This, a small but influential non-profit focused on the oil and gas sector. There, he developed the organization, built the team, improved internal processes, and engaged with key shareholders.
He believes in a healthy balance between sustainability and profitability: ‘profit with purpose’. His studies in Business Economics at Erasmus University and his experience allow him to quickly gain insights, spot opportunities, and bring structure without losing sight of the bigger picture.
