He is also a family man who moved to Brussels for love and a bon vivant who enjoys sport and spending time outdoors (sailing and mountain biking), as well as travelling and cooking.
He’s a true European, who speaks several languages, including Dutch, German and English, and enjoys working with people to come up with ideas and then building on them.
Having studied Management and Business Information Systems he went on to work as a programmer, ERP supply chain consultant, programme manager, internet entrepreneur and interim IT manager, creating strong foundations for his subsequent career.
These skills proved very useful in his work as an executive account manager for an IT service organisation, where he helped many clients, often in an international setting, to convert their digital ambitions into feasible solutions.
His knowledge and experience mean he can quickly understand business processes and identify the causes of problematic areas and then translate them into practical solutions. As a result, he can be seen as a ‘holistic helicopter pilot’ with a good overview and able to explain issues from every angle and with the necessary detail.
He is receptive to what technology and other innovations can offer. Thinking of a company as an ecosystem, he also understands the vital role played by the people behind the systems. Alongside his interest in planning and optimisation, he understands the importance of integrating with your suppliers and customers, as well as 3PL and 4PL optimisations using AI, data-sharing solutions and cloud services and the need to integrate and orchestrate all these services and solutions into your business processes.
