Hans Hulsinga

Biography

Hans is an experienced senior manager in transport, warehousing, distribution and other logistics processes. He has gained this experience working for manufacturers, retailers and e-tailers in a variety of sectors.

His character is open and enthusiastic. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children in Zeist. He is a fanatical cyclist, jogger and skier. He also loves cooking, and particularly the simplicity of Italian cuisine.

Experience

Hans was born on a houseboat in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde and so it’s no surprise that he started his career in the shipping industry. He acquired his logistics experience working for several years at Nike in Belgium and the Netherlands, and expanded his Supply Chain knowledge in breadth and depth when working for companies such as Thermo Fisher and bol.com. He was then Head of Logistics at Suitsupply for five years, where he supported the brand’s globalisation, particularly in the USA and China.

Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of operational processes he is quick to identify the primary issues and has the drive needed for improvements and optimisation. He has a great deal of experience with businesses undergoing rapid growth and has consistently known how to avoid logistical bottlenecks. He is energised by and has wide-ranging experience of building and steering teams, often in international and multicultural environments. His creativity and receptiveness to new developments mean he is effective at helping clients to select and implement new technologies to strengthen their Supply Chains. He focuses on designing logistics structures, on procuring ICT solutions, transport, warehousing and other logistics services, and on implementing the designs.

Hans is a Far East specialist and since the 1990s has regularly visited factories in countries such as China, Myanmar and Vietnam with the aim of optimising overseas shipments by air, sea and rail.
