Floor Jan graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology. He started his career as a project manager for Dutch Railways, followed by operational responsibility at a small construction company. He then moved into the world of consultancy and advice, where he has now been working for 20 years as a Supply Chain management expert.
As well as his project and consultancy work, he is a driven and enthusiastic tutor on the APICS Supply Chain Management programme. He gains inspiration and a sense of satisfaction from communicating and sharing logistics knowledge with other specialists.
He has experience in various sectors, including logistics service providers, wholesale, FMCG, healthcare and manufacturing. The challenges he enjoys most involve optimising forecasting, inventory management, warehousing, logistics processes and Supply Chains.
His open approach makes him an effective communicator able to implement change processes by gaining clients’ trust at all levels of the organisation, from the workfloor to the board. His enthusiasm and energy enable him to connect individuals, teams, organisations and Supply Chains and get their commitment for optimisations, cost reductions, higher-quality services and continuous improvement.
